I use this app to cut clips (because it's easier doing it here) and to reduce the size of the rendered videos from AE.Vocal Remover
I use this website to remove background music in clips. so what i do is i exported the audio of the clips to .mp3, remove the music here, and i attach the audio back to the clip. it's a lot of work ik but at least it's free :D and they did a pretty nice job removing it.Audacity
i use audacity to edit my audios.
